Electrical Technician in Amsterdam

What will you do?

As an Electrical Technician at Flagship Shipyard, you will work at our shipyard in Amsterdam on the technology behind the city's largest electric fleet. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems on board our electric vessels.

You will work on a wide variety of technical projects, from replacing battery packs and troubleshooting electrical faults to installing new electrical systems. No two days are the same. You'll work with everything from small electrical components to higher-voltage systems. Thanks to our expertise in electric vessels, you'll have the opportunity to work on unique maritime projects while further developing your technical skills in marine electrical engineering.

Practical information

• Location: Amsterdam (Flagship Shipyard)

• Employment: Full-time (38 hours per week)

• Working days: Monday to Friday

• Salary: In accordance with the Metal & Engineering Collective Labour Agreement (CAO Metaal & Techniek). Indicative salary: €2,670 – €3,400 gross per month, depending on experience and qualifications.

• Start date: By mutual agreement

Your responsibilities

• Install, connect, and commission electrical systems and components, including electric motors, battery systems, inverters, and charging equipment;

• Perform maintenance and repairs on electrical installations;

• Replace, connect, and test batteries and electrical components;

• Read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics;

• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults;

• Carry out inspections, measurements, and testing to ensure safety and reliability;

• Work on both low-voltage and higher-voltage electrical systems;

• Ensure high-quality technical workmanship and accurate documentation of completed work.

Job requirements

• Demonstrable experience as an Electrical Technician;

• Experience in the maritime industry is an advantage;

• Knowledge of electrical installations, preferably electric propulsion systems;

• Accurate, safety-conscious, and solution-oriented;

• Able to work both independently and as part of a team;

• MBO level of education and thinking, preferably in Electrical Engineering;

• Good command of Dutch and/or English.
