Operations & Events Internship | Amsterdam Light Festival | Amsterdam | MBO/HBO/University

What will you do?

As an Operations & Events Intern, you will help ensure that our daily cruises run smoothly. You will support the Operations team both in the office and on the quay, with a focus on the Amsterdam Light Festival. This is one of the busiest periods of the year. Your tasks will include assisting with planning, coordinating departing boats and guiding guests during boarding. Together with your colleagues, you will help ensure everything runs smoothly and guests have a great experience. Your internship will be varied, combining organisational tasks with a hands-on approach.

What will you learn?

• Assist with the preparation and execution of the Amsterdam Light Festival;

• Support planning, scheduling and administrative tasks;

• Welcome guests, assist with boarding and coordinate queues on the quay;

• Maintain contact with planners, duty managers, hosts, skippers and harbour partners;

• Maintain checklists and records, and process operational data;

• Contribute to projects and improvements within Operations.

Practical information

• Start date: As soon as possible;

• Duration: 3 to 6 months;

• Type of internship: Work placement;

• Working hours: A combination of office hours and operational shifts. Availability in the evenings and at weekends is required;

• Internship allowance: €500 per month;

• Location: Our office in the heart of Amsterdam and the quay.

Requirement

• Currently enrolled in an MBO, HBO or university programme in operations, events, hospitality, tourism or business administration;

• A reliable, practical and guest-oriented attitude;

• The ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt to changing tasks;

• Good command of English; knowledge of Dutch is an advantage;

• Availability during the Amsterdam Light Festival (ALF), including evenings and weekends.
